I would say Infiniti G37 as far as performance. I think both Lexus and Infiniti have quality cars. But the Infiniti G37 has outperformed even the BMW 335, Mercedes CLK, and the Audi A6

the g37 is way faster then the IS250, if you want to compare the g37 you should compare it to the IS350.

g37 - 330hp 3.5l v6

IS250 - 204 hp 2.5l v6

IS350- 303hp 3.5l v6

Toyota and Nissan are pretty close when it comes to reliability. I still trust Nissan more. My mom and dad both have driven Nissan/Infinitis for the past 20+ years and I've seen many of them last over 200k miles.



My wife's family on the other hand swears by Toyotas and all three of their's leak oil and have other issues.



As far as which to buy? It depends on what you want.



Sports coupe or luxury sedan? The G37 is pure performance. It's gorgeous (minus the ugly chrome lip) and will whip on both the IS350 and BMW 3 series.



The IS250 is very luxurious (at a price), but is lacking in the performance arena. You'll probably get much better fuel economy out of the Lexus due to the smaller/less powerful engine though.



As for AWD. Who cares?! If you drive in the snow, you don't get a super fast, super powerful RWD sports coupe...You get a G35XS=Power, luxury, sportiness, AND AWD ; )

i like the g37 looks wise, but I would have to take the IS with awd... b/c yes the G does have more hp, but when it snows that car will basically sit still while the IS drives by

Quality and refinement = Lexus IS

Looks (interior AND exterior) = Infiniti G37

Performance = Infiniti G37 by a land slide. Its the only car to trump the BMW 3 Series in a head-to-head comparo.

th G37 is a hotter car than th Lexus IS 250. th G37 haz 335 hp whil th IS haz 204 hp (a whopping 131 ponies less). aniway, th G37 is a coupe whil th IS iz a sedan. if u want a rival 2 th IS, tak th G35 aniway.

The both come in manual or automatic, but only the IS250 has an AWD version, so if you live in Canada or along the boarder where it snows often the IS250 AWD would be the better option. Quality and reliability are pretty close, though Lexus typically scores a bit higher. The IS250 costs less then the G37, but can't touch the G car in performance though the IS350 comes very close. The IS250 gets about 3-4 mpg more then the G37 and has a tighter turning radius. Even though the G37 is a coupe, the interior size is equal to the IS sedan front/rear space. I think they are both beautiful cars, so the G's biggest win is in performance and its biggest loss is no AWD and worse MPG....so it depends what your needs are as to which car fits you better, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
