ive found a couple good offers on g35 coupes and happened to stumble upon a black one with 6 speed manual and a silver one with a 5 speed auto-manual, i was wondering if i could get a public opinion on which one would be more fun and better suited on the long run, im young and would love a six speed, but if auto-manual comes with the same fun and for a long drive home switch it to auto would come in handy?

so i ask you guys, six speed or auto-manual?

you know what they say 6speed or DIE!!!!

jk, no seriously the 6 speed from infiniti is really fun to shift along with acura tsx, you would enjoy the car. I drove my friend's 6 speed and i felt that all horses and torques were at my command. with auto its like they're sleeping.

6 speed.

well, i'm 18 and have had a 6mt 04 coupe for a year now. car's fun to drive, torquey and easy to drive overall. 6mts tend to be more expensive because they're rarer, but i love mine. going turbo soon (hopefully)

i don't regret going with the stick shift, but on certain occasions it can be a little annoying. especially if theres a girl/ girlfriend in the car and you want to hold her hand (or something else) and you have to keep shifting.

i recommend the 6 speed. and to clarify, i don't like people saying a tiptronic is like a stick shift. pushing a stick up or down is nothing like rowing through the gears.

manual= more sporty feel, faster shifts, more fuel economy, better overall performance

automatic= no need worry about shifting gears, better for a first time driver

the 6 speed manual will give you much better performance and itl feel like a proper sports car. You will have better control of the car at all times and much faster shifts with the 6 speed. Even when you are driving long distances you will still have the vehicle in one gear at all times unless you are in traffic. Go with the 6 speed.

To make this contest competitive, you must order the Mustang with a Performance Package. This package includes suspension upgrades, 19 inch wheels and most importantly, 3.31:1 rear axle gears. The standard 2.73 rear gears suck for street racing, but they allow the car to achieve 30-32 mpg highway with an auto transmission (I've done it many times). The 3.31 gears aren't exactly going to toss you into the back seat, but they are at least acceptable. To really unleash the 3.7 V6 Mustang beast, you really need the manual transmission, the 3.73 gears, an aftermarket tuner and a CAI kit. With the right wheel/tire package a this set up, The new V6 Mustangs are very quick and can surprise a lot of people who paid a lot more for their fast cars. I'm planning on a gear change as we speak. I love my car. It's a great daily driver and a very good car. But, the 2.73 gears do not do this car justice at all. They tame this quick lil V6 street beast and they make it a nice, everyday cruiser with good freeway passing power.

well first buddy you have to learn how to drive stick. but get the stick. way more fun than driving a regular boring automatic with 2 hands on the steering wheel the whole way. besides you look more like a stud and get more hoes with stick, and when you put your foot down its more fun too.
